Prague, Czech Republic — 25 August 2025 — The historic Lucy & Selam tour has officially begun in Europe today as the exhibition “Human Origins and Fossils” opened at the National Museum of the Czech Republic.
Thousands of visitors, researchers, and media representatives gathered to witness Ethiopia’s priceless fossils — Lucy (Dinkinesh) and Selam — displayed together outside Ethiopia for the very first time.
The Ethiopian Tour Operators Association (ETOA) is honored to be represented at this landmark event by its President, Ato Fistum Gezahegn, and its General Manager, Ato Tegene Hailegiorgis, who joined dignitaries, scientists, and international partners at the official opening ceremony in Prague.
Speaking at the launch, Ethiopia’s Minister of Tourism, Selamawit Kassa, reiterated Ethiopia’s pride in sharing its heritage with the world:
“To date, Ethiopia has been promoting Lucy to the world; now it’s Lucy’s turn to promote the new face of Ethiopia to the whole world.”
