ETOA commends PM Abiy Ahmed's leadership in making tourism a core economic pillar, citing record visitor numbers and pledging partnership in Ethiopia's tourism transformation.
At ETOA (Ethiopian Tour Operators Association), we have watched with great admiration as Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has placed tourism at the very heart of Ethiopia's economic transformation. His recent designation of the sector as a core economic pillar is not just a policy shift—it is a dynamic and visible commitment that is reshaping our nation's future.
The Prime Minister's efforts are evident across the country. From the revitalization of our capital city through the "Dine for Sheger" project to the restoration of priceless heritage sites, his administration is actively converting our historical and natural wealth into sustainable economic opportunities. This visionary leadership has already resulted in record-breaking success, with over 1.4 million foreign tourists and more than 50 million domestic travelers visiting our nation recently.
ETOA represents a community of professionals with the potential, knowledge, and experience to propel Ethiopia's tourism sector to new heights. We commend the Prime Minister for his recognition of the private sector's "irreplaceable role" in this revitalization and stand ready to work hand-in-hand with his government to build a thriving, resilient, and world-class tourism industry.
The transformation is visible, the progress is undeniable, and we are proud to be partners in this journey.
