ETOA and the U.S. Department of Commerce have discussed a new partnership to enhance tourism and trade between Ethiopia and the U.S. The collaboration aims to promote Ethiopia as a key tourist destination and foster economic growth through mutual trade opportunities.
On March 26, 2025, the Ethiopian Tour Operators Association (ETOA) held a pivotal meeting with representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa. The U.S. delegation included Mr. Nathan Stickney and Mr. Kumlachew Teferi. Representing ETOA were President Ato Fitsum Gezahegn and General Manager Ato Tegene.
The discussion focused on fostering collaboration between Ethiopian and American stakeholders in tourism and trade. Both parties expressed their shared commitment to exploring opportunities that would contribute to the economic growth of both countries, while creating new business opportunities for their respective industries.
This initiative aims to leverage mutual strengths to promote Ethiopia as an attractive destination for U.S. tourists while fostering trade partnerships that complement the economies of both nations. It aligns with ETOA’s mission to advance Ethiopia’s tourism sector through international cooperation and sustainable practices, while supporting broader bilateral goals for mutual prosperity.
This collaboration represents an important starting point for building stronger cross-border partnerships that will benefit both countries economically and culturally in the years ahead.
