Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – December 4, 2025
The Ethiopian Tour Operators Association (ETOA) and Ethio-Holidays have strengthened their strategic partnership to advance stopover tourism and promote Ethiopia as a competitive global destination.
During a recent high-level meeting, the new ETOA Board and Ethio-Holidays discussed practical areas of collaboration, including familiarization (FAM) programs, joint marketing initiatives, and coordinated tourism promotions to enhance Ethiopia’s visibility in key markets. A central focus is expanding stopover tourism to attract transit passengers, encourage longer stays, and support local businesses.
"We are excited to deepen our collaboration with Ethio-Holidays," said Mr. Fitsum Gezahgn, ETOA President. "Together, we can deliver innovative stopover packages and elevate visitor experiences."
Mrs. Zebiba Miuftah, Head of Ethio-Holidays, added, "This partnership reflects our shared commitment to positioning Ethiopia as a sustainable and competitive tourism destination."
The renewed partnership is expected to strengthen promotional efforts, improve coordination, and accelerate the growth of Ethiopia’s tourism sector.
