Ethiopia has taken a significant step forward in its ambitious Green Legacy Initiative today, planting an impressive 600 million trees across the country in just one day. This massive effort is part of the nation's goal to plant 6.5 billion trees throughout the year.

The Ethiopian Tour Operators Association (ETOA) joined the initiative this morning, participating in a tree-planting event at Sheger city in the Oromia region, specifically at Legedadi. The event was graced by the presence of several high-ranking officials, including:

Her Excellency Ambassador Nasise Challi, Minister of Tourism,

H.E. Ato Seleshi Girma, State Minister

This initiative, launched in 2019, aims to combat deforestation and climate change while promoting environmental stewardship among Ethiopians. Today's achievement demonstrates the country's commitment to creating a greener, more sustainable future.

The Green Legacy Initiative has garnered international attention and support, positioning Ethiopia as a leader in environmental conservation efforts in Africa. As the country continues its journey towards its 6.5 billion tree goal, it sets an inspiring example for nations worldwide in the fight against climate change.
