Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ethiopian Tour Operators Association (ETOA) actively participated in two significant events that underscore the organization's commitment to advancing Ethiopia's tourism sector and cultural preservation.

Ethiopian Travel Agents Association 30th Anniversary Celebration

On 26th May 2025, ETOA joined industry stakeholders at the Hilton Hotel to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Ethiopian Travel Agents Association. This milestone event brought together key players in Ethiopia's travel and tourism industry to celebrate three decades of growth and collaboration in the sector.

Museum Development Book Launch at Goethe Institute

The following day, 27th May 2025, ETOA participated as a stakeholder and panellist at the Goethe Institute for the launch of a groundbreaking publication titled “A Pillar of Sustainable Development: Museums in Ethiopia - History, Challenges, Perspectives” The book, edited by Ephrem Amare and Konrad Melchers, represents Volume 2 of the Proceedings of the 20th International Conference of Ethiopian Studies.

The event was officially opened by H.E. Ato Seleshi Girma, State Minister of Tourism, highlighting the government's commitment to cultural heritage preservation and its role in sustainable tourism development. The program featured comprehensive discussions on the critical role of museums in Ethiopia's cultural landscape and their potential as drivers of sustainable tourism.

ETOA was represented at both events by the Vice President Fikreselassie Admassu, who engaged actively in panel discussions and networking opportunities that strengthen partnerships within Ethiopia's tourism ecosystem.

These participations demonstrate ETOA's ongoing commitment to fostering collaboration, supporting cultural preservation initiatives, and contributing to the sustainable development of Ethiopia's tourism industry through strategic partnerships and knowledge sharing.
